Having high blood sugars!!!!!
My pump alarmed tonight to say my cartridge had ran out. I was due a change so not to worried. But when I removed the set their was blood in the tube. Plus a bit had come up to where I connect and disconnect from, I use the inset ll, with the animas pump. Should I be concerned??

I wouldn't worry too much as you were going to change the set anyway but also ended up doing a cartridge change so everything was new again. Sometimes blood can come up the cannula and clog it but usually bg levels start climbing as well. Did you accidentally knock the set at all or press on it?

Hi IHS, no I didn't catch or press on it. It just got me a bit worried. Blood sugar has gone up to 9.9, but I don't think that's to bad. The site bled a bit and was a bit tender but it has settled down now.

Thanks, this is only my second time of getting a bit worried since starting the pump in Nov, my first was Christmas Day, when a set bent at a right angle, tried my best to correct( but finally gave in on Boxing Day and called out of hours). So this is only the second time, but no doubt not my last :).. It's just getting used to things I guess. Thanks for the help.
