I recently heard about the bitter melon and how it is supposed to lower blood glucose, I did not think I could manage the fruit itself so I purchased the tablet form, only been taking for 2 days so very early stages - today my blood glucose reading after lunch (cheese salad) 7.3 - so one hour later I took the 2 bitter melon tablets an hour later the reading 5.6.
Just wondered if anyone else is taking this and having similar success?
Also if you are taking what time of day do you take them, my highest reading on a good day is my fasting level - it then gradually drops throughout the day providing I am good with what I am eating - I end the day with readings between 6 and 8 which I believe are OK, but I wondered if I was to take them at night would they help with my fasting level in the morning or is this just a trial and error type of situation where everyone is different.
Sorry if this is a daft question but I appear to be stumbling along the way and not making huge improvements.
Diagnosed type 2 in March 2015 - I take 4 x 500mg Metformin and 1 x Sitagliptin and 1 x statin each day
