So, I am 54 years old and am at stage 3b kidney failure, my liver is not working so well, and I have high blood pressure.
I started to drink rather a lot last week and got to see the doc on Monday no big shock I have diabetes. now he has given
me tablets and I take them as I should. However I am a little worried as my Blood Glucose seems to still be high 20.5 before dinner and 28.2 after two hours from eating.
Is this ok till Monday when I next see him ?? or should I be running to the out of hours practice ?
looking forward to your replies . Andy

The two options I am thinking of is either go to the out of hours practice or don't eat any carbohydrates at all until you see him. Safer to go to the out of hours practice.

Definitely do not eat any carbohydrates or sugar (potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, pastry, cereals, anything made from or containing flour) and go to the OOH service. Best of luck.

I agree with what the others say.
Steer clear of sugar, bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, sweet fruit, pastry, cereals, cakes, biscuits... Anything that will drive your blood glucose up.

Stick to meat, fish, eggs, cheese, non-root veg, salad.

You are probably already on a particular diet for your kidneys. Can you fit both sets of dietary advice together until you see your doc?
