Blood glucose high

High I’m new to this forum and have just been diagnosed with Type 1 two days ago so I’m new to all of this, before my dinner I used 6 doses of novorapid and 10 doses lantus ( what the doctor advise I use) 1 hour after dinner my blood sugars are extremely high up at 27, so my question is should I use more insulin or just wait until when my next dose was meant to be

hi,
Do you have a specialist diabetes nurse? Contact him/her as they will advise what to do.
There will be an out of hours number most likely. Were you given this info.
Most likely your dose will be increased.
Try testing more pre meals and 2 hours post meals.

hi and welcome. thats just the start up dose it will go up a lot and then gradually drop when you get better control. what are you eating at the moment. obviously at those levels avoid sugarly stuff but stay roughly ona normal diet they need to get an understanding on the doses your body needs. later when you understand your condition better you can if you want reduce carbs and that should reduce your insulin needs. but for now stay healthy and try and avoid sick people. until your healthier again.
