HI. I'm new posting, so I hope I can make myself understood. I'm 60 years old and have had type 2 for nearly 10 years. After being told initially I didn't need to test sugar levels, I was called in and given a Freestyle Optimum Neo by my GP. This didn't last very long as it kept going wrong. The DN then supplied a Contour next meter. This has been great apart from it needs batteries soon. Suddenly the DN says I have got to have this! - meaning a Glucomen areo 2K meter. Well I have tried and tried to use it but I am not having much success in using it. Perhaps a lesson it its use would have been useful but was basically told to read the leaflet which I can't make head nor tail of. Think I must be having a stupid few moments or something! I see my consultant next week, who is getting insistent that I need to go on to insulin. Might this be the reason for the sudden "present" of the Glucomen area does anyone think? Does anyone else use this meter and what success do they have with it. And, are there any other meters that anyone would really recommend that I could ask surgery to provide in the first instance and self fund if they get stroppy?
Thank you for reading this epistle. Didn't mean it to be this long :-(
