Blood Glucose Monitor

I recently purchased online a sannuo rapid detection blood glucose monitoring meter glucoter. It has 3 buttons:-
C- to enter in coding
D-to enter time set
M-on/off key
I have followed the instructions which is to use the blood sampling pen by inserting a needle after removing the cap, drawing blood from a finger and smearing the blood on the test paper which is inserted in the monitor. It should take 10 seconds to produce a reading. The first result came out as LO. Then a number came out as 53.5 whereas the monitor should show a figure such as 5.8 as per the illustration. It is rather vague as to where I should smear the blood and whether it should be at the top of the strip or along the front.
Can someone tell me where I am going wrong. It says there is a manual on the internet but I cannot find it.

I have no idea about this monitor but for all the ones I have seen you place the strip in the monitor and when it is ready dip the end of the strip in the blob of blood.

There is a YouTube on it. It seems to be in Chinese but may help if you watch.

hello @jefflouis. I am not aware of this BG monitor. Are you in the UK? BG in the UK is given in mmol/L. The 53.5 is a mg/dl and would indicate a BG of aprox 3mmol/L
