Sometimes there is human error, and sometimes there is a fault with a particular strip (or even a whole tub of strips very occasionally) and this applies to all meters. Whenever you get a reading that is totally unexpected, or outside your normal range for that time of day, it is always worth a second (or even a third) test. That is a big discrepancy ... but either meter could be wrong, or both meters.
Are you on medication that can cause hypos? Or do you need to inject insulin? If so, it really matters that you trust your meter. If not, then it isn't so important as all we look for is trends.
