Hi, been T1 for 8yrs, I'm coming up to 39, don't smoke/drink and am probably just slightly underweight (always have been, I can never put on/keep on a lick of weight).
At all of my reviews my BP has always been smack bang in the normal range. At my last review I noticed that it was a fair bit lower than usual (bear in mind I only get it checked annually). It was still within normal range but at the lower end at 98/68.
I have always tended to be more prone to hypos than hypers and am pretty insulin sensitive (I still only take 6 units of basal). The doctor sent for a cortisol test, which is not the first I've had done. I had one 4yrs ago which came back low and this led to a short synacthen test for Addison's which was negative. I had another synacthen test done last year (not based on any symptoms or cortisol test) and it was also negative. I've heard nothing back after 4 weeks about the last cortisol, so presume it was OK.
A fortnight after my review I went to one of those health kiosks to get my BP done. It read 105/72 which was fine. Again, lower than anything in the past but I wasn't worried.
This morning, though ( another 2 weeks later) I had it done again and it only came back as 87/61 which is now in the low range.
Last night I did go to a dance class and also the heat has been really full on and I wonder if that might have contributed to it being lower. I'm not having any symptoms and I wondered if I should be concerned that it is apparently getting lower? This could actually be fairly normal for me and the few times I've had it checked in the past it has actually been a bit higher. Is it worth monitoring myself? Has anyone else had this? I know some people have naturally lower BP but mine seems to be decreasing - but like I say based on only a few checks.
Any thoughts?
