Hi all
Have recently been started on Perindopril 4mg daily for my high blood pressure, which I take before bed as instructed by my GP am just curious if it could cause a rise in blood sugar level upon waking.Has anyone else experienced this? All it says on the patient information leaflet is to tell your doctor if you are on insulin, which I am and she knows,so not sure what the relevance is for it to be on the leaflet.Any info would be most appreciated.
Regards
Binney

I can't say I've noticed a rise in bg after taking bp meds, I take a 5mg dose of Ramipril and have done for several years after developing diabetic retinopathy, I don't take mine before bed so can't say what my morning readings would be like if I did, if this continues then discuss with your HCP's, they may suggest upping your basal insulin by 1 unit to overcome the rise.
