Is there any reason why my blood would be 11.2 2 hours after eating chicken salad. Have got a ear throat and chest infection and am on antibiotics could that be the reason?

Illness tends to send the body a bit mad, and I know with us T1s that will see an increase in blood sugar, I would expect that T2's would be similar. I guess the body send out more sugar (resources/ energy) to aid the body in its fight.

I'm being so good with my diet following lchf exercising more etc. Feeling really rough suppose I just have to sit it out and wait for the infections to go. Thank you for your reply

being ill with a flu type of cough put mine up too. Hope you are better soon :)

Same thing happened when I had an infection. BG was all over the place. That being said. I had a garden salad with grilled chicken (no dressing) the other day and my sugars went through the roof. Turns out the restaurant put some sort of glaze on the chicken which is mostly sugar. Could that also have contributed?

Get well soon! I'm sure the instability is likely to result from
your illness.

It was a plain chicken breast as I done it myself and I don't have salad dressing. Seems like it's down to the infection. Thank you for your help
