blood sugar level before treat hypo

Seems very odd to treat if not taking insulin or some other drug that reduces BG. My honeymoon was so long ago that I have no recollection. Does anyone know/has anyone more recently diagnosed been told that as the pancreas is going a bit haywire is it possible for it to overreact (so one would end up with the same issues as a person who has e.g. reactive hypoglycaemia), which might justify the reasoning that hypo treatment is necessary?

Don't suppose you remember if you were given any advice on how to possibly extend it as much as possible?
It was almost 40 years ago and I was quite little I'm afraid so I have absolutely no idea.

In fact I don't even know whether the "honeymoon period" was even a known thing back then, I certainly didn't hear about it until joining this forum some years back (and never at the very good juvenile outpatient clinics I attended back then.)

Sorry! :)
