Hey, I have type 1 diabetes (think it's written in my signature). Anyway, in Summer 2011, I noticed a small lump in my neck. I was staying in Portugal for a few months, so got it checked out when I came back - I wasn't too bothered, just figured it was a cyst or something, but Mum was adament on me going and getting checked out because I have a family history of breast cancer on both sides, and non-hodgkins lymphoma on my Mums side. The DR sent me for blood tests, which came back fine, but old me to keep an eye on it. 5 months later, it is still there, and has got a tiny bit bigger. I've also got a very small one on my collar bone. I've got some associated symptoms, and my DR has now referred me to a specialist in the hospital, and a blood test on Thursday. I was wondering, how are blood sugar levels affected by cancer?... I know that when i'm ill with colds and stuff that they go high; so does it do the same thing with cancer?? I have consistently high blood sugars, despite taking ALOT of insulin. Thanks!
