Blood sugar levels during pregnancy

Hi,
I'm new to posting on the forum but have been reading for advice recently.
I've been T1 for nearly 5 years now and my husband and I are now trying for a baby.
We got the all clear in December with my hba1c and have now been trying a couple of weeks.
What happens to blood glucose control in early conception? I'm probably putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 but the last 2 days my levels have dropped massively! I had 7 hypos yesterday and ,even with a reduction to my long lasting, I've had another 3 today. Could this be a sign?
Thanks

Hi @sekv

Impossible to guess really. Some ladies have lows very early, but for others the first sign is highs. Of course, some ladies have neither! I had highs very early on, which then changed to lows for the first half of pregnancy (approximately).

The only way to know for sure is to use a reliable pregnancy test, but if your trying to conceive, it's always safest to presume you're pregnant until circumstances prove otherwise.

Good luck Keep us updated! Test lots and lots if you're still going low frequently and keep those hypo treatments near.

Thank you @azure

I'm probably overreacting but it's just such a difference to how my levels usually are that it made me wonder..
I think it's still too early for a test so I'll just see how it goes for the next couple of weeks. But good to know that, as with everything t1 related, it's different for everyone ahh!

Hey how did it go. Have you managed to test yet? X

Have had lots of lows - lots of insulin adjustments! Period is due tomorrow (my pregnancy test says I can't do it until I'm a day late) so I will find out either way in the next few days :-/ eek! Fingers crossed but I'm thinking it prob won't be good news..
Thank you for asking though

Hi tbh I'm being selfish. I'm having similar symptoms. Foods that used to spike my levels sent anymore and have had three hypos at night when I don't normally!

I'm feeling hungry but can't eat much. Having a lot of cm (tmi) and a bit crampy but I've looked up and mostly ppl hVe highs if pregnant so I'm not holding my breath

Believe it or not so was mine!!

Congratulations!! X

Eek! Exciting! Congratulations too!

Although I'm all over the place today! Have already cried down the phone to my DSN!

Thank you Amy X
