Blood Sugar Monitors

Which is an accurate, quick and cost effective monitor to use for someone that only wishes to monitor on an adhoc basis?

As @JohnEGreen states the Contour Next One strip price will probably break the bank, I use a Contour Next and I am subsidised here as a T2 in Australia by NDSS, and the strips are only $1.20 per 100 a box instead of ~$60.00.

The Contour Next is as accurate as my Abbott Free Lite that I replaced it with because it did not have blue tooth.
