Hi. I hope I have listed in the right place as I'm new here. I was diagnosed with diabetes over a year ago, over time I have gradually been feeling worse. I was started on metformin about 6 months ago this has just been increased to 4 metformin tablets and 1 other tablet per day. My sugars don't seem to be going down any less than 20, my sugars are normally in the 30's or just Hi.

I have lost over 2 stone on 8 weeks, don't each much but still feel terrible.

I'm drinking about 10 litres of water a day as I'm constantly Thursday, constantly needing to wee, sweating constantly and just overall rubbish.

The doctors did a blood test which shows my sugar is wel over.

I seem as though I'm not getting help from the doctors, I'm not under any hospital either.

I'm 29 and few absolutely terrible, any on have any recommendations?

Thank you.

Daniel

Ask for a c-peptide and GAD test. These will show if you have antibodies and how much insulin you're producing. The weight loss is a bit alarming and indicates you might be LADA and need insulin.

With sugars that high and no support I would be inclined to go to a 'walk in centre' before the weekend and say how awful you are feeling unless you can see your gp tomorrow or Friday. Good luck. Hint - get there as early in the day as possible to avoid queues but you will be seen.
