Hi I have been type 2 diabetic for about ten years now and to be honest I haven't really looked after myself.
Since new year i have really tried to sort myself out and i have been trying to sort myself out.
This morning I had two eggs on two small slices of toast. At the same time i took my medication 100mg metformin, 25mg empaliflozin & 4mg glimeperide. Blood sugar before 9.8 Blood Sugar 2hrs after 15.8 Is this common?

8 years away, good to see you back @andydo1964 ,

You're starting out with a relatively high number for a fasting reading and a 6mmol rise for (I'm guessing) around 20g of carbohydrate (toast) is not entirely unexpected but your body will react differently to mine and everyone elses so it's not easy to give info and advice about glucose levels.

You could try the eggs without the toast to see what happens??

Also, what are you eating for your evening meal? A look at this might help you reduce the level you start at when you wake up.

If you reduce your carb intake then please be aware that your Glimeperide is a Sulphonluyrea class of drug so there maybe a risk of hypoglycemia attached to dietary changes.
