Hi

Recently diagnosed (type2) and just started testing on Friday. This morning on waking my BG was 8.3. An hour and a half later just before breakfast it was 9.1. I had only drunk water up to this point so am confused about the rise. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have a search for Dawn Phenomenon and liver dumps. Our livers push glucose in to our blood streams in times of fasting. This is because it thinks we need extra energy to start the day. It is quite natural.

Ok thanks, will check that out.
