blood sugar

hello, I have been very happy with my blood sugar count over the past 6 weeks, just under 6.0 in the morning and just over 7.0 at the end of the day, this last couple of days it has been just under 8.0 in the morning and over 8.0 at the end of the day, now 2 days ago my husband had a bad fall in the early hours of the morning and I spent an hour trying to get him up, in the end had to call out an ambulance. Could all this upset have caused my blood sugar to go up??

Hi Jane,
Welcome to the forum. Stress just like depression can affect your BG, I'm not an expert on this, but I have found stress does make my BG rise.

Regards Graham

Yes,stress can affect your blood sugar levels. Also you were exerting yourself at a time you would usually be asleep.Your body would have compensated by 'dumping' glucose to give you that extra energy.I hope your husband is all right now.
