Hi, can anyone recommend a good app to track BG readings, carb intake, insulin amounts, exercise etc I always keep a written diary of this & have done since diagnosed in 2005. I find it really helps & my DSN loves me for it but now I feel I need to move with the times, so if anybody could recommend one (that's free) that would be great! Thanking you in advance!

I used On Track for a while. It was pretty easy to use and I liked the graphs displaying the last day/week/months results which could also be exported to a PC. I think you can store exercise although I didn;t use that feature.

For me the big downslide was that I tend to keep my phone in my bag so it's not always handy when I do a BG. Since I'd then forget to add the data to the app the results were not much use and I gave up, my new meter stored carbs too so now I just use that.

What meter is that?

Hi there

The dafne online app is really good.

You can then go onto dafne online and share it with your diabetic nurse.

Agreed. I've tried a few and I found DAFNE the best

Personally I use sidiay from sinovo. Android, apple and pc versions all work very well and support is excellent.

iBGStar! I love it. Very handy as I always have my iPhone with me.

I'm using the freestyle Insulinx, it stores the BG & carbs and can also do the maths for you. Helpful for me since I have different ratios for different times of day. It's OK to use, only takes a tiny drop of blood and is quite quick but it does feel a bit flimsy. The case especially is a bit naff, the meter is held in with a strip of elastic and mine seems to have lost it's spring.

There are a couple of other similar meters, Accu check expert and a lifescan one I think so probably worth looking round before choosing.

I've started using the my sugr app, which I've found a bit easier and less long winded than the other apps.

Plus there are weekly challenges if, like me, you're not brilliant at writing everything down!

If you search on the Apple App Store or the Android store for mySugr it should come up, it's a green logo.
