I have been o a low carb diet for 8-9 days at around 1400-1500 cals. After my fasting blood sugars dropped at first from about 6.5 to 5.5 first few days. I then fasted for a day at 650 cal and ate 1500 cals next day. I have been exercising on bike for an hour everyday ...about 1000 cals used...and i also walk fast for 1.5 to 2 hrs a day. So i am running a significant calorie defecit. I have dropped about 3.5kgs but last three days my blood sugar has risen 6.3 to 7.2 and 8.3. I have never scored above 7.0 before. Has anyone got an explanation or had a similar experince. I am concerned it may point to a different problem entirely

I thought we had answered this on your other thread? By the way are these morning Fasting Blood Glucose reading or after meal.. how often are you testing and what are you eating?

Strenuous exercise can raise your bs. It comes from cortisol and adrenaline. One thing I found out is I can't beat the bs out if me. Maybe slow it down and take a slow to moderate walk and see if that's it.

It's been rising solidly for 4 days now. I am getting hyperglycaemia. My family has a history of pancreatic cancer. I am very concerned. before last couple weeks I never scored above pre diabetic levels

If you are concerned about cancer go see your doctor. Starving yourself at the same time you are doing high intensity exercise is a recipe for liver dumps and rising BS, at least in the short term.

True, but it's could also help clear his Glycogen reserves of which he'll have stores equivalent to about 2000 Cal.

Once that cleared, your insulin levels should drop.

But as the others have said, if you are concerned in any way at all, see your doctor.

Cardio by the way typically ups your BG whereas, resistance lowers it in view of forcing your muscles to trigger glucose/ fat burning depending on your ketogenic state.
