I have had diabeties for over 18 year now, but the past 6 month have been very difficult. I can’t seem to control it. My blood sugars are over 20’s in the morning, ave tried taking my nova rapid b4 bed to try and drop it in the morning. Ave upped my long lasting, I wake in middle of night mad check and am 17 and take more insulin, but still the same in the morning. Am at a lose at the moment and looking for abit help ? Thank u

Hello Kayleigh,

What are sugar levels breakfast, lunch and supper. Especially supper!

It is risky to take novorapid before bed without eating. Seems odd that your sugars are constantly high in the mornings despite you administering novorapid before going to bed.

Personally I would up novorapid before PM meal rather than injecting it before going to bed. Obvious fear is you suffering a hypo whilst you sleep. You state you also increased your basal but that hasn't helped either!

Get an appointment as an emergency asap as something is wrong obviously.

Be really interested in knowing why this is happening to you.

Hopefully others can guide with their knowledge but I really worry about you giving yourself novorapid before you turn in for the night. Please don't risk that! Seek support from your Diabetes Team / GP as a matter of urgency.
