OK it’s blood test day. What emotions do you go through? I get quite excited about it - yes I think I am wierd. All that walking, exercising, eating avocado, olives, tumeric, ground cumin, ground coriander, cinnamon, tomato’s, onions and mushrooms, ignoring those scrumptious looking cakes, watching everyone else stuff the take away - and it all boils down to today! Will I be rewarded for being a food angel for 3 months or will It be a borderline disappointment? Am I excited about the HBA1c result or the reward of a one time only day off, eat what you like day - oooh I’m going to have a cake. There’s nothing quite like blood test day!

I'm so conflicted on this - I'm very much the same - I`ve got my blood test due, and have the paperwork - so I have a plan of which day it is going to be, and what information I'm planning on sending to my GP---

--- and at the same time, this isn't a diet - this isn't a race I can get a prize for and "go back to normal" - this has to be the way things are for ever if I truly believe all that I think I've learned about the way my body works... so it kind of doesn't matter what the result on the day says - it's only one more day...

But - I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous and optimistic..

You both have the "prize" - you have won your new health, new shape, new control over an ancient illness. You may or may not get good words from your healthcare practitioners - some are curiously short of understanding how a few kind words can be so supportive - but your body and therefore mind and spirit have already heaped trophies on you. All that remains is to keep going on the path to victory, which gets easier and easier the further we go.
