Hello, I got my hospital blood test back this morning, and 'fasting blood glucose' was at 5 (range 3-6). The doctor said its fine and that I am ok. Only, no, I am not feeling ok. I asked him if he could refer me to a specialist at the local hospital, for a Glucose Tolerance Test, and he said no. He said he couldnt refer me because my result was within range, and they would not see me. I said to him isnt the result on the high end of the range and worth investigating and he simply kept stating that there was nothing wrong with me. I kept trying to explain that there is definately some sort of sugar problem, but he kept insisting that I was fine. Eventually he called the nurse in, and I asked her wether or not I could be referred, and I got the same answer, no, the result is within range. We did a blood sugar finger prick test. it was 5.6, this is 2 hours after having my breakfast (tea and toast). I told her I felt wired and hyper like Id drunk 10 cups of coffee, but she said its in range and normal. Can anyone comment on this?
