Blood test readings

Hi
I'm very new to this and am confused and a tad overwhelmed, one thing I would like to get clear is around readings. When I was told I was T2 last week the nurse explained it was because my blood readings had gone above 50 and we're now at 63, but reading on here most people talk about their readings being 4.6 or 10.6 that sort of thing, is it just a decimal point that's the difference, so mine could be 6.3 rather than sixty three.
Or is this a reading of something else all together.

@Martinjd,
You may be getting confused in that the HbA1c values for blood (the 2 month values) used to be expressed as a %, now they are expressed as a whole number (mmol/mol) a lot of the long termers still work in terms of the old %!
63mmol/mol would be 7.9%, 45 mmol/mol would be 6.3%.
