Hi Rochy,
I'm quite new to all this also , only being diag in May this year.
My fasting test was at 13.9 and i had the toilet issue and was drinking like a fish for a couple of days. Once my results came back they started me on tablets and advised on my diet.
Like everyone has said before, with type 2, which is possibly what you may have, it's more a life style change than anything else. Basically eat a health diet and more exercise. On my 3 month test i was down to 6.2, which was due to the med's and also working hard on the diet and exercise thing.
Now from what i can find out about diabetes, everyone will tend to tell you something slightly different, so i tend to go with the mean, but saying that this site has been more than helpful.
Basically, you need to look at labels and cut down or cut out as much sugar as possible, a lot of thing s surprised me as they have huidden sugars, but just switching product often helped. But as a general rule jsut eat healthy. Theres more to it than that, but just look around this forum as theres lots of help and advise.
But for as fasting test i think a normal reading would be around 5 - 5.5, dont quote me on that, but i think these are around the figures, a small diet change will make a huge difference...
