Hi Philip and welcome.
That reading alone doesn't really mean a whole lot. If you are worried that you might have diabetes it's far better to book yourself into your doctors surgery for an HbA1c blood test which will show your average level after the past 2-3 months. From this your GP or Diabetes Nurse will be able to give you more information. Once you have a confirmed diagnosis then you can start to take action.
Does seem a bit high, but are you sure your hands were clean and free of any potential contaminates? If you are worried, go see your GP, I assume you thought you might be as you wouldn't buy a testing kit for no reason...........?
I'm afraid we can't diagnose you. Only your doctor can do that. If you are worried go and see him and ask for a diagnostic test. This will confirm matters one way or the other.
