Hiya
I'm relatively new to this so have just started on the journey. I've read a lot around the boards and taken some information on board.
My GP currently has me on a diet only sort of approach to a type 2 diabetes diagnosis.
What I need to ask is how often and when do u test ur blood to find out what little culprits are responsible for rasiing ur blood sugars with a view to reducing them. A friend has loaned me her spare monitor for a couple of weeks so I'm kinda now in a place to start testing and keeping a record to see what's what. The thing is I'm clueless. If I'm going to eat how long before do I test? After I've eaten how long do I leave it before testing? What are the levels I should be looking for both prior and after (if that makes sense).
Forgive my naivety but after seeing what way my mother treated her diabetes I dont want to be the same way. By that I mean she was insulin dependent and still ate and drank whatever she chose including chocolate, sweets and full sugar fizzy drinks
TY
