Blood tests for T2's

I have Type for about 10 years I take metformin & glicazide last month I was issued with a test kit due to DVLA making a change in the law for driving. If my reading is below 5mmols I am not allowed to drive. I follow this rule religiously, 2 times iwasbelow 5 and I did not take my car out of my garage. I do not want to take the risk and possibly have an accident so I have to take my readings twice daily before food I think it is right I should and this is for T2.

Hi June
I'm on dapagliflozin too, but still have a urine test with my blood tests - have done for years. I was told that the urine sample you give to the nurse/clinic is being tested for kidney function, not sugar - they check for protein (which is why women need to mention if their period's due - it can mess the test up). It's your blood that gets tested for sugar - I think urine tests for sugar are pretty old fashioned these days. Only time I ever had one was how I was diagnosed - they did a urine test before an operation, and it came back +++, so they did a fasting blood test (13.9) and told me to see my GP as soon as I got home...
Hope you got on OK on Monday.
