HI Nanaclaire,
Lantus will probably be the cause of your unexplained tiredenss, and high BGs, I've been there and got the t-shirt
Lots of posts on this forum about Lantus problems, do a search, worth taking a look. For many people Lantus doesn't work as it should- erratic, inconsistent and unpredictable BG levels were what I experienced along with many side-effects including exhaustion & pain. Don't waste 4 yrs trying to work out where you're going wrong like I did, when you see your doc ask to try another basal insulin. I'd been type-1 for for many years before I was changed to Lantus, and it was a living nightmare
Do some google searches for Lantus & tiredness, fatigue, exhaustion. Many people don't get on with synthetic insulins and this has been known about since their introduction in the 1980's, side-effects appear to be more previlent with analogue insulins, introduced in the 90s and the side-effects are often not recognised or ignored by medics. I'll be a headache on this forum about this subject for as long as I am able, if it helps anyone.
Here's a link you may be interested in, don't be alarmed by the "c", it's the side-effects reported that may be of interest to you.

Also it's worth contacting the IDDT for further info, here's a link
http://www.iddt.org/here-to-help/contact-us/ Take a look at their website to for honest info about synthetic insulins.
Hope that helps and best of luck with your appointment this week.
