Not looking forward to the test tomorrow, been on holiday to the states just after last bloods taken in November said to GP that I was not taking any statins until we see the results
So all in all a big day for me probs next Monday hope all is well

Thx Jim....

Don't worry, be positive. After all, you can't do very much today that will have a big impact on your blood. It is a big day and is important so good luck.

Fingers crossed for you.

Good luck everybody on your blood tests. I'm sure they will be good and if not, don't fret, there's always tomorrow x

Good Luck - I'm having bloods taken on Thursday, so will have results next week. If they are not good this time will just have to work harder before next. (and I have put on weight this winter, so probably in for a telling off)
I had my blood taken last week in readiness for the potential telling of with the consultant. But I haven't got a crystal ball so I'm just off to have my winter casserole.

Some interesting comments. Sorry to be a misery guts but does luck come into it? Surely we have a pretty good idea before we have these blood tests, so long as we have been monitoring BG.

Anyway, good luck! LOL

By the way, are GPs still trying to get everyone to take a statin?

I refused to take them the last time in November

Yes they are , my diabetic nurse tried to get me to take them too but I've said no thank you !

Good luck! I always get nervous about blood tests (they're always fine). A bit of worry is natural - it shows that you care, and that being healthy is important to you. Just remember, trying your best and putting in the effort is more important than the number that comes back on the blood test.

Hba1c of 64,so think it’s the same as last time

If it is the same as before, at least it hasn't gone up. However, it does need to come down. It is too high, but you know this. Have you any plans how you can improve?

What were your cholesterol and lipid results? You thought you may need statins.

Results for me have arrived. Amazingly I am 38 which is better than the 39 I was 3 months ago. So that means having stopped taking Metformin in December not only have I controlled myself, but have done better than expected - which is really strange as I have put on weight. Still will now have to work hard to keep under control.

Well done, great job there.

Cholesterol was 4.4 I think so will not be taking them
