Hi everyone,
I have been suffering from both Retinopathy and Macular Oedema for around 18 months now. I have had three laser sessions and a course of three Lucentis injections into my right eye. Since initially being diagnosed with the complications I have drastically improved control of my BS down from an Hba1c of over 11 to 5.6 through LCHF diet and a shed load of personal discipline.
Anyway I had a short Laser Photocoagulation session towards the centre of my vision ten days ago in my left eye. My vision has been fine until I woke up this morning to find that I have a very blurry spot just slightly to the right of my central vision in my left eye that seems to be persistent. I am quite concerned and have contacted the opthalmology department of my clinic and spoken to my consultant's secretary. However, my consultant is not in work today and I have been advised to go to my opticians if I am worried, who will then refer me back to the clinic if they deem it necessary. They have also left a note on my consultants desk.
I have to say I am quite worried by this advice. I have spoken to my optician and they can't get in to see me until later in the week. Does this sound like sensible advice or should I be asking to see someone at the clinic urgently? Opinions gratefully received!
Thanks,
Pete
