Hello, can you help? I have been back on my low carb diet for a month now and I am swimming nearly every day. I know my blood sugar had been high for a couple of months before this. I'm now getting some headaches and blurred vision. Can this be caused by reducing blood sugar levels? Thank you

Have you tested your bloods?
Usually blurred vision and headache is either a low reading or fluctuating bloods.
Sharp ups and downs can cause the symptoms.

With my recent experience Mo I would take yourself to the doc. If it persists call an ambulance!

@ellagy my blood sugars are quite normal at present. I'm just curious whether lowering blood sugar levels can cause these. Thank you for replying. I'm at the doctors this week so I will mention it.

Mo, I wasn't thinking of your bs... I was thinking of more important than that! Two Saturdays ago I had a TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attach) which is a mini stroke. Totally unexpected, but one of the questions they were asking me was about blurred vision. Don't forget to mention it to the doc... if it continues phone an ambulance! xx

@ellagy thank you for the advice. I must admit I hadn't thought of anything but the lowered bs.

@Lamont D thank you. I thought I had read that lowered blood sugar could cause these but I'm so glad you confirmed. I thought I would ask , just to make sure.

the eyes are the last place where the sugars get back to normal level, so maybe thats why you feel your eyes right now, maybe they have started to change down in eye-glucose ...
my eye doctor told me that some even has to get new glasses when getting normal blood glucose, she told med to wait buying new glases.... unfortunately I am not among the Lucky ones that gets better eye-sight after having gotten my glucose down
