blurred vision

I was diagnosed about 10 days ago with Type 2. Blood sugar then was 25. Now on gliclazide and metformin. My vision is very blurred and I already have an appointment for a diabetic eye screening. Will the blurring improve once my blood sugars go down?
 
From many MANY accounts I've read here, they should. Get those numbers down but progressively is the advice I've often seen given
