Would it help to bolus earlier? (Lots of posters here call novorapid novosluggish)I worked out that the milk in the small latte would be around 20g so I injected 2 units of Novorapid about 10 mins before the latte.
Oops, just realised you are T2 and not T1 so my advice is cross posting slightly. As a T1 I wouldn't be afraid to bolus earlier than 10 minutes but I stress that I am T1 and not T2.I wasn’t sure how far in advance you could Bolus, the DSN said no more than 10 mins before you eat and ideally when you sit down but I can certainly try and Bolus earlier and see if that helps.
Could you try a latte with unsweetened soya milk? That's what I usually have.I’m really sorry to ask another question.
Can someone please explain what I’ve done wrong and if I’m destined to always have a coffee with a splash of milk when out with friends and lattes are a no no.
Yesterday I met friends for a coffee in the afternoon around 3pm and before my latte I was a lovely stable 6. I worked out that the milk in the small latte would be around 20g so I injected 2 units of Novorapid about 10 mins before the latte.
I enjoyed the latte with a couple of sweeteners but after about 15 mins the high alarm on the sensor was going off and my sugars were 13.9 and rising.
They eventually peaked at 16 where it stayed for about an hour before very slowly dropping down to 12 and staying there before tea.
Ooh, I could give that a try. I’m presuming that the coffee shops have unsweetened soya milk as an alternative?Could you try a latte with unsweetened soya milk? That's what I usually have.
My introduction to insulin was with Novarapid 100, from which I quickly graduated to Novarapid 200, which I have been ever since. I've got into the habit of injecting myself 10-20 minutes before a meal and that usually works well for me.Lots of posters here call novorapid novosluggish
