Hi
Another of my learning questions. I'm low carb, usually under 50g a day. I've read somewhere on the forum about having to bolus for protein. I eat meat, fish, eggs and cheese and the rainbow of veg. Can anyone help me on this please? Just about to tuck into some lamb without bolus!!! Do you bolus for meat etc?

Unfortunately, we are all different.
Some if us need a protein bolus. Some don't.
It us down to testing to find out which category you are in.

Nobody here can tell you what you should or shouldn't do insulin wise - only your meter can do that.

Personally, I bolus for half of my protein if it is a fairly low carb meal. But, if your post-prandial readings are fine, then there is no reason to. Besides, if you are recently diagnosed, then you are probably still in the honeymoon period, and your own insulin may be covering it.

I also allow 4g per egg.

That's just my two pence worth anyway :)

EDIT: @helensaramay crosspost - clearly great minds think alike ;)
