Hi, I'm an avid book reader and now I have just started, Lost light by Michael Connelly. It's about a former LAPD cop with time on his hands who looks at an old file again.................... read chapter one :-)

I'm well into a lot of self-published sci-fi on Kindle at the moment. Book prices are cheap, sometimes the spelling, punctuation of grammar is a little off but the story telling is often brilliant.

Currently reading some Chris Hechtl and very much enjoying it.

I must admit to enjoying the self published stuff since it often brings in some interesting concepts.

I did just recently finish reading the "Slated" trilogy by Terri Terry at my wife's insistence and it was pretty good too.

Just read a book by lucky Atkins .....it was a great family drama and a thriller .....kept me awake most nights..... Loved it ....

I have just started one by Katy Flynn .....great suspense .....family drama between the years ....another suspense though......
The story is set between in the years in Australia and Norfolk .....and a war is on....goodness where will it end .....

I love Sci fi, but only the films, not the books! My grown up daughter bought me a paperback a few years back called Cell ( or The cell, Sci fi about mobiles I think), but I just couldn't get in to it I'm afraid.

They both sound like the books I would read, they sound great :-D The book I have just read was Queenie's Castle, East end pub,1960's.... villians......Queenie liked the men...........her man in prison again. I think you would like that one Kat x

When all else fails I revert back to David Eddings, Raymond E Fiest, Robin Hobb and Anne McCaffrey to cheer me up. I would love to read the Game of Thrones series but I missed out on buying them cheaply so will wait a while longer.

Try The Works for Game of Thrones. Tgey have the box sets in occasionally 1st 7 books (2 of the books are in 2 parts) for about £35-£40. Just wish George Martin would pull his finger out and finish the next one!

On amazon I can buy the books individually for £25, or the set for £30 so will probably just buy one a week and try to read each one slowly ha ha ha
