Boots told to stop selling Libre Sensors to patients!!

I got 2 at Superdrug last week, had to go into store and pay when I ordered they arrived within a few days (I ordered on a Friday evening so took a little longer). It’s a little bit more inconvenient as Boots was close by and I have to go out of my way to find a Superdrug with a pharmacy but needs must

Last time I went they were pretty good, I've still got two left because I tried the Abbott route again just to make sure it was still an option. Will be back to Superdrug in a month's time, hopefully they don't get their firms memo either.

So that was two still at 34# each, I have the app on my phone and a superdrug pharmacy nearby so may give it a go.

The two I got at Superdrug were £35 each, but that was before this thread appeared. Worth trying because even on this thread people are reporting different experiences with just Superdrug. I think Reading branch was one that had said they wouldn't supply to people without prescriptions.

I was in Superdrug on Saturday. Quoted £35 with VAT exemption, £42 without. I was shown their internal procedure. Ordered 2 by phone yesterday. However in another branch they quoted £57 and in a third they clearly hadn’t even heard of it! Haven’t used Libre before so ordered only 2 sensors.

My Worcester town Superdrug sold me 2 sensors @ £35 ex vat. I had to give them a vat exempt form which I downloaded off the [DOT GOV DOT UK] web page and filled in and left with them.
Look for government/collections/vat-reliefs-for-charities-disabled-and-older-people on the web site.
Hopefully as NICE and the National Health are pro the sensor all postal areas will allow their use free with prescription, fingers crossed.
Off to badger my DN and Dr. for free sensors for all Diabetics

Best

I'm all in favour of it being free to those that really, absolutely, no question, need it. As much as I'd like to get it for free, I can see that there isn't the funding available. Having been refused NHS help with two knees, removal of a cyst on my neck as well as the removal of a lump on my neck that's like the top 1/3 of a tennis ball, I've got use to the fact that the NHS is not going to care for me from cradle to grave, far from it.

Same here in Aberdeen, boots told not to sell to the public via circular.was told to contact Abbott site by assistant.
