Oh no, just had lots of the above... And the bg is rising.... Need to be much more careful about what I eat... Also keep trying this IF but I think I just seem to do better on 3 normal meals a day (still lchf). Help, you lovely people!!

I read that the chicken part is ok/ish ? I've had it before with no great spike, but I did pull off any thick gooey coating bits.
I think the chips need to be avoided.
If I have something on the naughty list I try to walk for 30 mins afterwards :)

Hiya @daisyduck, I didn't pull off any bits but I didn't have any chips. It did spike at 9 but was back under 7 within an hour... Was wondering about getting a treadmill since I never feel like going out after dinner at home though I guess the nights will be lighter soon.... :)

Try climbing up and down the stairs 10 or 20 times. See if that works before splashing out on a treadmill. I tried all these fancy ways of preventing spikes after a carby meal, following advice received on here 3 years ago. It may work for some people, and good luck to them, but it didn't work for me. I find a glass of red has much more effect, and failing that, water.

Well done on avoiding the chips! 9 doesn't sound so bad in comparison to the following guidelines.
Type 2 diabetes (Diabetes UK Council of Healthcare Professionals 2015)**
  • before meals: 4–7mmol/l
  • two hours after meals: less than 8.5mmol/l.

Those numbers are too high for my comfort zone but that's just me.

The fats can be just as hard to process and raise bs as the carbs. Good for no chips!!! Eating out is always a wild card. Never sure what were eating!

Those readings don't look too bad - how long was it before you were back to 7?
