Bread potatoes pasta

i know this has probebly been discussed before I realy need to cut down on these, any one any ideas thanks.I really love my bread . Are all breads about the same have tried bergan and could not get to like it .Any advice will be gladly recieved
 
Have you tried swede, cauliflower or celiriac mash instead of mashed potatoes? Bread is my downfall too, haven't got a Waitrose near by to try the livlight (low carb) bread, but I do like the Burgen soya & Linseed. Bought some Spelt bread in M&S last night to try, but at £1.30 for a small loaf if I am ok with it it will only be for an occasional treat! You could also try some of the rye breads, although they are alot heavier than a sliced white, you may find something that worls for you and you like the taste of.
 
I'm OK with Hovis Granary bread, but only one slice at any one meal. I'm also OK with either 3 roast potatoes in Duck fat with a roast dinner, or 2 new potatoes with fish. It's all trial and error. (Mostly error :( )
 
You may find you can tolerate a couple of slices of wholemeal bread, but only by testing will you know. I am finding it takes time to find out what makes me spike and what doesn't. As Bluetit says, it really is trial and error.
 
Thanks . i found i can tolarate 2 slices of hovis wholemeal. so its goodbye white bread
 
Another vote for both Burgen Soya and Linseed and Hovis Granary breads as I'm okay with both in moderation. It's also worth mentioning German style rye bread as it has limited impact on my BG levels. I buy mine from either M&S or from a bread stall at my local market.
