Why do you think you need carbs because you are active? Nobody needs carbs. In the absence of carbs, our bodies burn fat for energy and that is much better for us, for our BS levels, cholesterol, and general health.
I buy the Lidl high protein rolls, slice them in half and freeze them. I have a half of one toasted with masses of butter with my egg mayo or bacon and egg lunches. A whole roll has about 9g of carbs, but a whole one is hard to eat as they are so dense and filling. Half of one is plenty. A slice of ordinary bread is upwards of 17g carbs, which is half my daily allowance.
