That's my problem with Vegimite, at least I have cut down my bread intake by 50% to two slices a day. I need something in my guts to keep my morning intake of medication to sit on.The problem is not the marmite, but what you spread it on.

Not for me - I don't eat grains. You could have oatcakes instead - 6g per oatcake and low GI.
The only way that you will know is if you test your blood sugars before and two hours afterwards.Good Morning. Is anyone aware if that most wonderful of things MARMITE is ok to have? It's one of a limited number things I just couldn't do without!
Weatabix are 100% carb so best kept to one biscuit but use the meter to check and would that be within any daily carb target you've set yourself? How do we feel about Wheatabix? Is it ok to have two with unsweetened soya milk?

All carbs turn into glucose in the body so its not really about "sugar" per se . I try to eat only foods that are 5g of carb per 100g or less (or should that be fewer).Right-set a carb target. A bit new at this so will have to do a bit more research into carbs. At the moment I'm focussed on the sugar aspect and getting fibre etc in my diet. Clearly a trip to the low carb diet forum is needed. Many thanks for your reply
Checking labels certainly makes you more aware of the rubbish people eat. I sometimes feel that most of the supermarket is off limits. All carbs turn into glucose in the body so its not really about "sugar" per se . That info should be on the label. It usually means you can miss out complete aisles of the supermarket which show just how much carbohydrate is in our food these days. The cereals one would definitely be one of those..
