Hi. Most of us found it difficult giving up or reducing our favourite carbs but you do get used to it and without the carb-hit you don't feel the need to keep having sugar. Set yourself a daily carb limit of, say, 200gm maximum and possibly 150 or less. It's not easy as you know but given time you can put the discipline in place. Do consider taking the Metformin. It's a very safe drug with few problems and does help reduce insulin resistance. Ask for the SR (Slow Release) version if it gives you stomach problems.

wrt taking Metformin - it's just that I think once you're on it - that's it and you are burdened by taking it for rest of life. I would much prefer trying to reverse my condition naturally but as per my first post I just seem to be almost in contempt of my life - a bit like smokers imo.

You can do it with simple control, if you get started now.I have around 10 weeks before my next appointment at the Diabetes clinic
