Hi all,

In case this is of interest to anyone, I had breast cancer 5 years ago. I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years. Anyone who has seen my previous posts will see that I have struggled with my levels, since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes just over a year ago. I am on Byetta and metformin.

I was so demoralised that I stopped trying very hard over the last couple of months. Anyway, I took my last Tamoxifen at the end of October. During the course of November I realised that my levels went down by about one point generally even though I was eating badly. I started trying again about 2 weeks ago and visited my Dr on Tuesday 39th Nov - My HB wosit (sorry!) level was 8.7 - down a point, despite eating quite badly). She represcribed me Glicazade, only at half the dose that I was on last year (Dec - Feb 10). I stopped taking it because I was always hungry and gained about a stone in weight over that period . Anyway, started taking it again last night, with the metformin and byetta, and had a 6.1 reading this morning. This is the best reading that I have had. I firmly believe that the Tamoxifen was adversely affecting my levels, and thought that my experience may prove of interest. I am feeling much more hopeful for the future.

Can't believe that it turned out that I was not Diabetic...High glucose levels do not always mean Diabetes! Check out the pituitary gland!
