Breastfeeding and diabetes

Hello

I'm not pregnant but I have a toddler
I'm going in for diabetes testing on Wednesday and I'm really worried il have to stop breastfeeding if I do have diabetes

I suffer from post natal depression and breastfeeding is what I need to get by
It's a long story
I'd just like to know if il still be ok if I do have it

I have Type 1 diabetes and I breastfeed I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. In fact, my diabetes consultant encouraged me to breastfeed as she said it reduces the chance of the child developing diabetes.
