I'm fed up coughing so I bought some Bronchostop Pastilles. which is a natural remedy with fructose as the sweetner and thyme the base. I was assured by the pharmacist they won't interfere with my medication.

Has anyone tried them and did you reap any benefits?

I haven't tried them. Thankfully I don't often have colds.

This is the patient information leaflet: https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/medicine/29342

They also contain Maltodextrin, which you might want to consider.

Bottom line is though, you are likely to be only using them for a couple of days, so which is causing your discomfiture; the cough, or the prospect of elevated sugars for the duration of taking the pastilles.

Many thanks - I have had a dry cough for ages and now a cold/sore throat and quite honestly a cough can elevate sugar levels ..... I have been so reluctant to take anything but I'm sick of coughing. Pre diabetes I would take lemon, hot water and a teaspoonful of honey or gargle with salt and warm water. The manufacturers say the product is fine for diabetics. The pastilles don't take very sweet, I'm confused. Maybe I won't continue before I have more information.
