Bruises

Legend
I have a bruise on my big toe and another one on the back of my hand. I don't think I knocked myself - especially not on my big toe as I'm so careful with my feet. Or could this be caused by walking too much? Is this a warning sign of neuropathy? I haven't got any other signs of it. My diabetes (type 2) is well controlled but I may have had it for a long time before being diagnosed. Should I treat the bruises with a cream or something or just let them go on their own? The one on my hand has been there for quite a while. They don't seem bad enough to trouble the Doctor with so instead I'd appreciate your help. :)

Get them checked out.
I don't think walking causes bruises unless something else is wrong. I regularly[most days] walk 5+ miles and I've never had it happen.

I agree with Hanadr. I too walk miles each day, and have never experienced walking related bruising..

Unexplained bruising really should be investigated, as it could be an indication of other conditions (such as amaemia), and a simple blood count can rule these out.
