bruising and swelling

Hi there
I am on Lantis and Novorapid injections. Occasionally get some bruising. At the site of a recent jab I have a normal bruise but the area around this is slightly raised and tender, and is paler than the rest of my skin. What is this?
Why dont you get told what to expect and what to look out for?
 
Bruises are not too uncommon for me as well. I find the best route to avoid them is to make sure i vary my injection sites a bit. I keep to sites around my waist, which works for me. I found that injecting nearer to my sides works well, but I do have a little excess I could do with losing :roll: :roll: which may help but I guess that's wishful thinking... :wink:
