BS getting more erratic

Hubby this last week hasn't been well, and we suspect poss thyroid changes ( I posed that on another thread and got excellent advice ty). But what is also happening is his BG is becoming more erratic. He used to stay in the 6s and 7s, but this last few days he's veered from 3.9 to 8.9. What might this indicate? His gp is away on holiday and we can't get back to see her until next week.

It's quite normal for blood sugars to be erratic when unwell. Check a little more often and if type 1 keep a keen eye on low readings - have something sugary on hand to take if readings go below 3.9.
 
I think we found the problem - he has the most awful cold now. Phew, a reason!
