Does anybody know what the BS level should be in a non diabetic ? Mine was 5.5 and I think that might be high. (I wanted to play with his meter  )
I'm very unfit and ill with ME so don't move much off the couch.

Hi Ming,
5.5 isn't high for a non diabetic, iv'e often "played around" with my sons meter, as a non diabetic iv'e been anywhere between 2.2 and 6.8, the lowest when i'd skipped lunch and felt faint, and the highest after a binge of chocolate, so i wouldn't worry.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted, but do be careful when playing around with other people's equipment. Make sure it is properly cleaned (alcohol wipes tend to work best) and make sure that you use a fresh lancet and then replace it when you put the device down. You can't tell by looking at someone whether or not they have a blood bourne virus and some people carry them without showing any symptoms.

Average Bg in a non-diabetic stays close to 5, often just under. Bernstein quotes 4.7.5.5 would be within the normal range if you'd recently eaten.
