BS reading at bedtime

This is for a type 2

Depends... True answer is no - should be under 5.7. Real answer is based on the phase of your fighting with diabetes. At the new diagnosis (so starting to fight) could be fine, because it is under 8. Next time do for example 1km walk to bring it lower...

It may also depend on when you last ate.
If you have eaten (including a drink such as beer or a milky hot chocolate) within the 2 hours before you went to bed, this may increase your BG.

Moving on - a fasting level of 6.2 I believe is below diabetic range BUT having already been diagnosed I will always be diabetic?

A fasting bg less than 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L) is "normal". A fasting bg from 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L) is considered pre-diabetes. If it is 126 mg/dL (7 mmol/L) or higher on two separate tests, you are considered having 'diabetes'.

As you are a diabetes Type2 person, I will suggest that group to respond to your last question. :)
